In November 2015, TELS Oversized and Project Cargo Transportation Department delivered a fuel-servicing truck and an equipped mobile workshop from Belarus to one of the regions in Africa.
To optimize the logistic scheme, the company developed various transportation options via ports in the Baltic States, Ukraine, EU countries. The most economical variant was lowboy delivery to Hamburg, Germany, with further sea carriage to Conakry, Guinea.
Having wide experience in export transportation of various heavy machines, TELS’ specialists provided for the possible difficulties in cargo transportation and did everything to:
Prepare the documents proving that the equipment wouldn’t be used for military purposes;
- Instruct the forwarder about the correct preparation of the equipment for German customs control and further transportation from the territory of EU.
Additional measures were taken in Hamburg port to clean the tank of the fuel-servicing truck, which is obligatory by European law for such equipment.
However, it was impossible to avoid all the “surprises”…
The second truck arrived at the port late in the evening. Unloading of the freight was performed by company’s driver alone. In the morning, when the new shift arrived, the workers rang the alarm as they couldn’t start the vehicle assuming that it had broken down.
Our driver had to return back to the port to show the German colleagues how to start such kind of vehicles. The difficulty with the engine start arose due to some specific features of Soviet heavy machines. The engine start required non-standard actions unfamiliar to port workers.
Eventually, all the equipment was delivered to Guinea within the time agreed and according to Customer requirements.

The date when labeling of pharmaceuticals, shoes and cigarettes with Data Matrix codes registered in Chestny Znak (Honest Sign) system becomes mandatory is now final.
